About us

About us

Our urban yoga studio is a little sanctuary, where you can take time out for you and revitalise body, mind and heart.

The name sanará, Spanish for “will heal”, is inspired by our founder’s childhood memories of growing up in Europe. The family holiday home was a place to relax, find calm, to enjoy life, to have fun, and to just be. It is our aim to bring these good vibes to the studio so that you can take regular breaks from the everyday stresses of life.

Relax on our terrace and enjoy a variety of classes in our light filled yoga space. Sanará Studio offers a contemporary and personalised approach to yoga.

Our team of professional teachers are all incredible individuals. Together, the team philosophy is heart-led, mindful and compassionate. We love what we do and we can’t wait to share our passion and knowledge with you.

Sustainability is important to us. Our mats and props are high-quality products and biodegradable. Mats are free of glues, AZO dyes and chemicals. The 100% natural tree rubber is sourced from sustainably managed plantations. No Amazonian rainforests were destroyed in making these mats. Our bolsters are filled with 100% natural, sustainable and biodegradable kapok fibre. The wool blankets are loom-woven from 80% recycled wool fibres and 20% recycled synthetic fibres. They are not treated with any chemicals, making them safe for you and the planet.

Sanara Studio is based in Tasmania’s capital city, Hobart. We are located on the top floor at 221 Macquarie Street, (corner of Molle Street).  Buses run regularly along Macquarie St and there is unmetered and metered (2 – 3 hours) parking available on Macquarie St, Mole St, Collins St and Davey St.

Contact us to connect. We’d love to hear where you are at and talk about what might be suitable for you. Beginners’ courses are available, and some of the regular classes will be suitable too.  If a group setting doesn’t feel like the right way to get started, opt for a private one-on-one class.

Sanara Studio is well equipped with quality mats and props. You do not need to bring your own mat and props unless you wish to do so.

Whilst you are welcome to turn up without a booking, we highly recommend you pre-book to secure your spot.

We embrace a fairly relaxed cancellation policy. That means, we rely on everyone’s assistance to make it work. Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel a class so that we can make the spot available for another keen yogi.

As sustainability is high on our agenda, we have chosen yoga mats and props that are not only providing you with a high-quality product, but that are also biodegradable and sustainable. The Earth-Me yoga mats are free of glues, AZO dyes and chemicals. The 100% natural tree rubber is sourced from sustainably managed rubber plantations. No Amazonian rainforests were destroyed in making these mats. Our bolsters are filled with 100% natural, sustainable and biodegradable kapok fibre. The wool blankets are loom-woven from 80% recycled wool fibres and 20% recycled synthetic fibres, and the blankets are not treated with any chemicals, making them safe for you and the planet.

Yes, we stock mats, bolsters, blocks, straps and eye-pillows for sale.

There is no dedicated parking for the studio, however buses run regularly along Macquarie St and there is unmetered and metered (2 – 3 hours) parking available on Macquarie St, Mole St, Collins St and Davey St. There is also limited push-bike parking available at the Mole St entrance to the building. For those who enjoy a little walking before and after the class, why not park at the top end of the rivulet track and take a stroll along this beautiful walking track.

The Sanara class pass credit system gives you maximum flexibility and accessibility to classes.

How does it work? The class passes are based on time credits rather than on a per class basis. Giving you flexibility to book different length classes without having to buy multiple passes. Mix it up and try a variety of classes or stick to regular times if that suits your lifestyle. The choice is all yours.

Each class has a set amount of credits assigned based on the length of the class. The relevant credits are deducted from your pass when you attend your class. For example; 7 credits per 45-minute class, 8 credits per 60-minute class,  9 credits per 75-minute class, and 10 credits per 90-minute class.

This translates into the following per class pricing:

5 and 10 Hour Class Pass Pricing:

  • 45- minute class is $17.50
  • 60-minute class is $20.00
  • 75-minute class is $22.50
  • 90-minute class is $25.00

20 Hour Class Pass Pricing:

  • 45- minute class is $15.75
  • 60-minute class is $18.00
  • 75-minute class is $20.25
  • 90-minute class is $22.50

Our buddy-up system allows you to share your pass with a family member or friend. They can join you, or take your spot when you are unable to attend. All you need to do is nominate a person and for them to agree to our T&C’s.
