Yoga

“Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul, create the symphony of life”

– B.K.S Iyengar

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Each pose is performed in a specific order, which has the effect of ‘unlocking’ the body, and preparing it for the next pose to come. All poses have specific health benefits and when combined into a flowing sequence, it results in detoxification and realignment of the body and nervous system. This practice helps develop inner strength, flexibility and can improve general health and well-being. Classes are based on the primary series and accessible modifications are offered throughout.

Yin Yoga

Yin is in! The busier our lives become, the more we feel a need to give back to our body & mind to find balance. Yin yoga is slow and steady with a sense of core softness and surrender. We passively work with the connective tissues, asking the muscles to take a back seat within the application of poses. Enhancing the health of our connective tissue and working with the meridian pathways, we can improve our overall health, immunity and emotional wellbeing.

Slow flow

Slow Flow classes offer an intelligent and fluid sequence emphasising breath, slightly longer holds, safe and functional alignment, a balance of strengthening and mobilising postures and a meditative approach to develop awareness and responsiveness in each pose. These classes provide the space for you to feel grounded in body, steady in mind, spacious in breath and present in heart.

Therapeutic Yoga

Classes explore postures focusing on gentle and therapeutic movement, supported floor based restorative poses, breath awareness and mindful meditation. A practice to support you to slow right down and be present, releases tension from the body and mind, and nourishes your nervous system’s capacity to calm and come back into balance.

Ashtanga Mysore Style

Named after the city in India in which this system was developed, Mysore style offers students the opportunity to practice Ashtanga Vinyasa  independently and at their own pace under the guidance of a qualified teacher. This style of class is typically suitable for those who wish to deepen their practice.

Kids Yoga (6 - 12 y/o)

Kids in this age group love to learn how their bodies and minds work. They’re motivated to do yoga poses if they know why they’re doing them and get to experience the difference it makes in their own bodies. Our classes help self-regulation, safe emotional expression, build self-esteem, and incorporate specific therapy moves for a broad range of health benefits.  Classes have consistent structure and boundaries so that kids feel safe, supported and seen.

Synergy Flow

Synergy Flow classes are based on the Yoga synergy Method developed by Physiotherapists  Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss. A dynamic, safe and progressive style that follows a set sequence taught over 9 weeks. Each class focuses on a different aspect of the practice, and you can start at any time in the sequence.  Each posture has a simple and more complex variation which allows you to choose the level of intensity that suits you on the day while having lots of opportunity to progress and have fun.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa yoga is a creative form of yoga where poses are linked together with the breath in a flowing sequence.

The beauty of Vinyasa yoga is the variety. There is no standard sequence in Vinyasa yoga, so the style, pace and intensity varies.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness and Meditation

“Meditation is not an escape. It is the courage to look at reality with mindfulness.”

– Thich Nhat Hanh

Guided meditation

A regular mindfulness and meditation practice improves the physical structure and function of the brain, reduces stress, improves focus, and slows aging of the brain.

There are many different types and levels of mediation and mindfulness practices. Taking guided classes can help you find the practice that resonates with you.

Take a breather

With pranayama we practice regulation of the breath. We achieve this by conscious awareness and control of our own breath. This practice relaxes and opens our mind and prepares us for mediation and our yoga poses. Pranayama practices are often part of our yoga and meditation classes.
